Mr. Balkan graduated from Marmara University Law School in 2004. Afterwards, he obtained his first LL.M. degree by way of completing the Business Law Master’s Program in Istanbul Bilgi University Law School in 2010 and his second LL.M. degree on Technology and Entertainment Law from Vanderbilt University Law School (Tennessee, USA) in 2011. He has been advising clients from a wide range of industries including but not limited to cosmetics, automotive, media and entertainment, construction, FMCG and tourism. His fields of expertise include competition law, intellectual property law, consumer law, corporate affairs, contract law, data protection and privacy law and M&A. Mr. Balkan has advised on the corporate modeling of numerous national and multinational establishments, realized their incorporations, consulted clients on their day-to-day corporate matters, in addition to M&A projects he has consulted and trained multinational clients on establishing secure distributorship agreements from a Turkish competition law point of view. Mr. Balkan, who holds a compliance manager certificate, also supports compliance managers of companies; in this context, he manages on-site audits, risk analysis, training and compliance processes, especially in competition law.
